Do you ever saw a small creature, that looks like a hummingbird but with moth wings? You must have missed it many times because it moves so fast like a jet plane and disappears in a second from your sight.
It is almost similar to a hummingbird and the humming or buzzing sound is produced by its rapid wing movement. Its larvae form (hornworm) is very damaging.
The wingbeat is very rapid, with about 70 flaps per second. It can move very fast with a speed of about 12 miles per hour.
It has long tongue like proboscis, which is about double the length of its body. Long proboscis help to suck the nectar from flowers.
Hummingbird Moths are very neat indeed. You did a great job getting a few photos. I can only take videos of them. Thanks for sharing!

They are very fast, disappear in a blink. Very hard to capture this creature.
